Voting Rights

Texas is growing younger, more diverse, and more progressive every year and Republicans have realized that in order to continue to win Texas they have to cheat. By voting Democratic November 5, you are leading a revolution that restores power back into the hands of the people, ensuring that every voice is heard.

Texas is Not a Red State, It’s a Voter Suppressed State: More people in Texas identify as Democrats, but Republicans have made it purposefully more difficult for voters of color to cast their ballots. But this election we have the chance to make a difference and flip Texas blue to ensure that our values are represented and our voices are heard.

Passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act: Republicans have prohibited drive-thru and 24-hour voting, banned same-day voting, and limited circumstances for mail-in voting. These are policies that would expand access to the ballot box for working families and people with disabilities–but that would be too much democracy for Republicans, wouldn’t it? If elected, Democrats would pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act that would protect voters from race-based and gender discrimination, ensuring equal representation for all.

There are approximately 325,000 Democrats in Dallas County who are not voting, and they could help determine the outcome for our entire state. These are close races–remember Beto only lost by just over 200,000 votes to Cruz–and if we vote the wins can be had right here in Dallas.
